24 Hour Musical: Heathers

24 Hour Musical: Heathers

F**k me gently with a chainsaw! Do I look like Mother Theresa? That’s right, this year 24 Hour Musical is bringing you the OG mean girls in Heathers the Musical! SMU Program Council and SMU Student Theatre, in coordination with Student Senate, are beyond pumped to bring you this thriller of show. We’re throwing it all the way back to ’89, and believe us, it’s going to be so very. If you’re in the mood for a slushie, boy do we have you covered. Trust us, this one is to die for…

Heathers will go on only ONCE Saturday, March 31st, at 2pm in Greer Garson Theatre in Owen Arts Center (Meadows). The event is entirely free, but seating is first-come-first-serve so we suggest you show up a little bit early. You won't want to miss it.

Heathers The Musical is the darkly delicious story of Veronica Sawyer, a brainy, beautiful teenage misfit who hustles her way into the most powerful and ruthless clique at Westerberg High: the Heathers. But before she can get comfortable atop the high school food chain, Veronica falls in love with the dangerously sexy new kid J.D. When Heather Chandler, the Almighty, kicks her out of the group, Veronica decides to bite the bullet and kiss Heather’s aerobicized ass...but J.D. has another plan for that bullet.

Brought to you by the award-winning creative team of Kevin Murphy (Reefer Madness, “Desperate Housewives”), Laurence O’Keefe (Bat Boy, Legally Blonde) and Andy Fickman (Reefer Madness, She’s the Man). Heathers The Musical is a hilarious, heartfelt, and homicidal new show based on the greatest teen comedy of all time. With its moving love story, laugh-out-loud comedy, and unflinching look at the joys and anguish of high school, Heathers will be New York’s most popular new musical. Are you in, or are you out?

Please be aware that Heathers deals with explicit content such as gun violence in schools, suicide, bullying, and sexual harassment. This show is rated R and is not meant for younger audiences.
