Learn to fix electricals with experts across 2 sessions &amp; continue to practice your skills at community repair events.About this EventDo you have some basic fixing skills or an interest in repair that you’d like to develop?Join this 2-part How To Fix Electricals workshop (18th November &amp; 16th December), where we will learn how to repair the most common items brought into community repair events, together. Take a look at a broad range it items, including toaters, lamps, and more. Develop your skills and confidence across two sessions. Read more about each session in the Agenda section. There will be opportunity to feed back between sessions and for you to tell us what you'd like more of.Community repair events are pop-up events that prevent e-waste by helping people fix their own electronics. East London Waste Authority (ELWA) run a series of community repair events (Repair Cafe's) across East London, which rely on volunteers to make the magic happen. We're therefore keen to meet more people interested in repairing and volunteering!All skill levels are welcome- including complete beginners and those with some fixing skills/experience already! These workshops are designed for those who would like to start volunteering their skills at repair events but don't know where to start.Please book one ticket to secure your space on both sessions. Please do not book a ticket unless you can attend both sessions. If you'd like to attend one session, but are not available for the other, please email london@therestartproject to ask for availability.Please note:These sessions are not repair cafes, where you can bring your items for repairThese sessions are completely free, all we ask is that you attend a Repair Cafe event as a volunteer to help hone your skills and build confidence and experience in fixing items, under the guidance of our expert repairersUnder 18's must be accompanied by a parent or guardianIf this event sells out, we will be prioritising giving tickets to people who live within the borough. If you live outside the borough, we may get in touch with you to cancel your ticket.This event is a collaboration between The Restart Project and East London Waste Authority. By booking a ticket, you consent to your answers being shared with both organisations, for reporting purposes. Learn how to strip wires, solder, replace switches and rewire a plug. These are common fixes that often help bring many items back to life!
