- **Event Description**: Orran's spoon making workshop will allow each student to finish their own coffee, tea, or spice spoon. Students will receive a pre-cut wooden spoon blank and refine it into a finished usable spoon. This will include 3 stage sanding, carving designs (optional) and oiling the spoon. It is put on through the Alabama Folklife Association.

Orran Scruggs of The MaeLou Collection is a self taught spoon maker from Dothan, Alabama. His passion for creating artistic and functional kitchen ware has helped him establish a spoon making business where he sells spoons and teaches students how to make and care for wooden utensils. Orran takes pride in using locally sourced wood to reduce lumber waste and create a smaller environmental footprint.

This class will take place from 12:30pm-2:30pm on Friday August 28 downstairs in the Basement Bookshop at Dadeville Public Library.

We ask that you please mark your attendance to make sure there are enough supplies for those attending.
