9ms ist das Duo der Münchner Schlagzeuger Florian König und Simon Popp. Auf Ihren Alben 'Pleats', 'II' und 'Lunch' beschäftigen sich die beiden Musiker intensiv mit Poly – und Kreuzrhythmik, Monotonalität, und Klangmanipulation. Mithilfe analoger Schallwandler und Sensoren werden an ihren Bewegungen intuitiv Tempo- und Abstandsinformationen zur Klangformung abgeleitet. Die Sensor-Aufzeichnungen der Körperbewegungen steuern die Klangparameter verschiedener Effektgeräte wie Echo- und Hallgeräte und Dynamikprozessoren. Dank dieser intuitiven Effektsteuerung bekommt die Interaktion von Mensch und Maschine eine neue spielerische Dimension. 
Mit ihrem neuem Album 'Lunch' rückt das Pendel als zentrales konzeptuelles Element in den Fokus: Seine stetige Bewegung wird über ein Gyroskop in analoge Spannung übersetzt und zur Steuerung sämtlicher Parameter im Setup genutzt. Dadurch erweitert sich das System um eine physikalisch-performative Instanz, die Kontrolle und Zufall neu 
miteinander verbindet.

On their wide ranging albums 'Pleats', 'II' and 'Lunch' the tech-savvy drummers offer grooves from the dubbier realms of World Music and Krautrock - some meditative and light, some thick as wall and steady as a clock. Using various infrared and magnetic field sensors, Popp and König were able to translate their movements into control voltage, which they then used to trigger and tweak synthesizers and a myriad of effects. A way for two humans to become one with their mystic machinery. 
On their current album Lunch the conceptual centerpiece is the pendulum. 
Neither man, nor machine, its steady movement is converted into analog voltage with what's called a gyroscope, allowing it to trigger and control any parameter in the duo's setup.
