UIL Act 1 Competition

Lost Girl by Kimberly Belflower is a coming-of-age play that imagines what happens after Wendy Darling’s adventure in Peter Pan and her return from Neverland. Rather than retelling the original story, it follows Wendy as a young adult who is still emotionally stuck in her past—fixated on Peter Pan and the idea of reclaiming the magic and love she felt there. To move forward with her life, she decides she must find Peter to “reclaim her kiss,” and along the way she encounters other girls who, like her, were taken to Neverland and can’t let go of their experiences. Through these encounters, Wendy confronts heartbreak, nostalgia, identity, and what it means to grow up and find herself outside of someone else’s shadow.
