Celebrate National Moth Week with us in 2025! 

$250/person

In the biologically rich 3000-acre Highlands Nature Sanctuary and surrounding preserves, we will witness a breathtaking number of moth species and other nocturnal insects that will be attracted to our light stations, all while under the mentorship of expert naturalists, Evening presentations will be hosted at the Paxton Historic Theater in Bainbridge, Ohio. This event will serve to help you begin or further advance your personal journey of discovery into the mysterious and intriguing nocturnal world of moths. Be prepared to stay up late into the night, so come well-rested!  

With your registration, you’ll enjoy:
✨ Nightly mothing at expertly staffed light stations, where hundreds of moth species and other fascinating nocturnal insects will visit.
✨ Inspiring evening programs at the historic Paxton Theater, featuring renowned naturalists, artists, and educators.
✨ Guided daytime hikes exploring the biodiversity of the Highlands Nature Sanctuary and surrounding preserves.
✨ The Caterpillar Lab Open House with Sam Jaffe—no registration needed to drop in and explore a dazzling array of live caterpillars.
✨ Plus cozy indoor options like our new Cozy Critters Social and two engaging workshops: raising caterpillars for education and budget-friendly macro photography.

We’re also kicking off the weekend with Friday Afternoon “Choose Your Adventure” sessions, including an intro program perfect for first-timers, or a special field presentation with John Howard at our new Tobacco Barn Hollow Preserve, where we’ll spotlight the elusive Timber Rattlesnake and share exciting news about a major land acquisition.

And because mothing nights often stretch into the wee hours, brunch will be served over an extended period each morning, allowing you to sleep in and help ease parking turnover at the Museum. Feel free to ‘stagger’ your way to breakfast—both in timing and in satisfied contentment!

Saturday dinner will be served in two reserved shifts, at 5:15 pm and 6:00 pm, with seating times assigned closer to the event.
