Insects shape our ecosystems, cultures, and daily lives in countless ways. Join entomologist and author Barrett Klein for several immersive days of insect exploration, including field excursions, nighttime UV light observations, identification, storytelling, and hands-on entomological techniques.

Participants will explore local microhabitats, observe and handle insects up close, use microscopes and field tools, sketch and illustrate insects, and learn about their evolution, behavior, and cultural significance. This course emphasizes observation and appreciation; no insects will be harmed.

Come away with a deeper understanding of the insects that pollinate, decompose, inspire art and engineering, and truly run the world.
