- **Event Description**: Welcome again poets, scribes, truthseekers and warriors of wit, lyricists and pathological liars to Alternator Poetrys mic open for the recited word! A night of sharing thoughts and feelings in the formless to formful art of poetry in a warm and welcoming space that encourages all original works. 

This months Alternator  will feature the work of Damien Becker performed by he himself, live and in the flesh, with a rare poetry-music-mashup live performace alongside DJ Zaziz.

Damien Becker’s poetry makes perfect sense to certain grown-ups despite minimal titillation or humorous puns. His debut collection ‘Thin Reed Throat’ won the Flying Islands Manuscript Prize. He is the winner of the Bunker Spoken Word Prize, is widely published in journals across Australia and is a former NSW State Slam champion. His collaborator and co-conspirator DJ Zaziz is an all-vinyl fool who has been spinning tracks live for twenty years and likes to play Afrocentric grooves, but he does all sorts of sound-malarkey, too.

Certainly a poet not to be missed.
