- **Event Description**: This month we will be learning more about the fascinating world of native bees with speaker Beau Spinks from The Bee Garden. 

Beau says- “While watering some plants in my garden 15 years ago, I noticed a strange black insect on a leaf. Definitely not a fly or wasp, it was black and looked like a bee, but at that time, I thought of the only bees being honey bees. It looked too much like a bee to not be, so I started investigating and discovered a whole world of native bee species that I had no idea about. 
 
At that time it was extremely difficult to find a colony, with only one or two people selling hives in Qld. We had just had our second daughter and finished some renovations at home, so bought a hive as karma for the garden. I soon fell in love with the bees and watching them work. One hive turned into two, then four, then a few hundred. 15 years later I'm still learning and remain as passionate about them. 
 
Now we promote back yard bee keeping, donate hives to schools and kindergartens and provide pollination services across various crops in SEQ and northern NSW.”
 
Join us at the Elanora Community Centre, 26 Galleon Way, Elanora. Thursday June 25.

Plus enjoy the raffle table, buy/swap/sell table, buy your organic seeds and seedlings and chat with like minded people over the supper table. 

Doors open 6.30pm with the meeting starting at 7.00pm. Members $2 entry, visitors $5, first visit free!
