We'll walk up to Forestwood Wildlife Reserve and enjoy the sights and sounds of the woods on this longest of days. We'll look out for deer, pine marten, foxes, owls, and bats and enjoy a hot drink in good company while we hear some tales of the woods and legends of the solstice.Celebrating the solstice like this is a tradition that has gone on for thousands of years, it helps to form bonds of community, and to remind us to joy in the cycle of life, and the turning of the world.Engaging with nature like this helps people to live happier, healthier, lives - and as we are doing it as part of the Nurturing Natural Connections project, there is the added benefit that by taking part you are helping nature too.Cumbernauld Living Landscape is improving Cumbernauld’s green spaces for both people and wildlife, while helping everyone in the community connect with the nature on their doorstep.
