This helps us keep track of who to expect, and whether we need to wait for anyone who is running late. Why is citizen science important? It’s difficult to protect wildlife without understanding it well. To conserve a species, we need information about its population, habitat, and behaviour—and to track how these change over time. Gathering all this data is challenging, and scientists can’t collect enough on their own.Citizen science helps fill this gap. By involving volunteers, conservationists can gather far more information, for a wider area.Participating in citizen science is a great way to learn about wildlife while also contributing to its protection.?
