Join us for an evening of ritual and reflection. Through story, song, and shared conversation, we’ll explore the entwined threads of grief, death, and loss—and the fierce joy that glimmers through their weave.

This offering is part of a weekend series led by Penny Allport and Renate Ringer exploring the practical, soulful, and ecological aspects of death and dying—including green burial, end-of-life planning, and the art of conscious departure. This Friday evening gathering opens the doorway into that deeper inquiry, through the expressive channels of lament, sound, and story.

Kester Reid, co-founder of Danu Folk School, a centre for land-based cultural learning, and one half of Siarimis, a Celtic music and storytelling duo rooted in ancestral tradition.

This gathering is not a performance, but a participatory space. Together, we’ll co-create a gentle container to honour sorrow and seek steadiness amidst uncertain times. Let this be seasonal nourishment for soul and spirit—a communal lament, a quiet offering, a ritual of belonging.

Storytelling and traditional songs that speak to grief and resilience
Guided reflections and facilitated sharing
Time for silence, song, and collective presence
 
Come as you are. Bring a friend, a warm layer, a journal if you wish, something from nature to contribute to a community altar —and whatever you’re carrying in your heart.
