Spend a relaxing day weaving with friends while you make this charming 9" x 13" Country Casserole Basket—perfect for potlucks, church suppers, family gatherings, or carrying a homemade dish to a neighbor.

In this hands-on class, you’ll learn traditional basket weaving techniques as we create a sturdy, beautiful basket made to hold a standard 9" x 13" casserole dish. Whether you are brand new to weaving or have made baskets before, this class is friendly, fun, and easy to follow.

Your Basket will have a Slotted Wooden Base. (The photo shown is woven, but we are upgrading to a wooden base to make your Basket sturdier) You will use the "turn-back" technique to create your handle spaces and finish your rim with your choice of Stoneware Side Handles. We will bring an assortment of dyed reeds to use as accent row colors, as well as various colors of stoneware handles to choose from.

No prior weaving experience is needed; participants must be able to follow instructions and work independently.

Seats are limited to keep the class comfortable, so be sure to sign up early. Be sure to wear your "crafting clothes" because you will be working with water and dyed reeds that may "bleed".

Bring a friend, enjoy good company, and spend the day weaving something both beautiful and useful..
