3rd Annual Winter BioBlitz

Are you interested in exploring and discovering new things in nature? If so, join the staff from Citrus County Parks and Recreation and Crystal River Preserve State Park for their 3rd Annual Winter BioBlitz!

This event is open to all ages and encourages both kids and adults to participate in outdoor recreational activities. The goal is to inspire everyone, from youth to adults, to learn about Florida's remarkable plants and animals.

So, what exactly is a BioBlitz? A BioBlitz is an opportunity for anyone to become a citizen scientist. By observing and documenting various plant and animal species, participants help biologists gather valuable insights into where these species thrive and identify those that may need conservation efforts.

Please remember to bring water and any other necessities you may need. Note that there are no restrooms at this location, and the terrain consists of exposed roots and lime rock, which may not be suitable for everyone.
