A practical and compassionate workshop exploring LEAF and Being With
Difficult conversations are part of being human. Whether it’s speaking honestly with a partner, supporting a friend in crisis, addressing tension in family relationships, or talking about illness, change or loss — many of us were never taught how to do this well.
Hosted by Zara, also known as The Invisible Doula, this workshop draws on years of experience sitting alongside individuals and families through grief, life transitions, emotional overwhelm and complex conversations.
You will be introduced to two simple but powerful frameworks:
LEAF – a practical structure to help guide difficult conversations safely and respectfully.
Being With – a relational and somatic approach to staying present when emotions run high.
Together, these tools can help you:
• Stay steady when conversations feel intense
• Speak honestly without escalating conflict
• Listen without immediately trying to fix or withdraw
• Hold space for yourself and others with compassion
This is a reflective, educational and gently interactive space. There is no pressure to share personal details, and participation is always at your own pace.
Suitable for anyone wanting to feel more confident navigating challenging conversations in personal, family or community settings.
