IAM RoadSmart 2026 Machine Handling & Control Day is designed to improve your riding skills and safety awareness by focusing on the vital relationship between the rider, the machine, and the environment. You’ll receive personalised coaching from IAM RoadSmart-qualified instructors, tailored to your ability and experience.
Held in the safe and controlled environment at Transport Training Services (TTS), with only 32 riders in four groups of 8 - this day gives you the chance to build confidence, sharpen your skills, and explore what you and your motorcycle is capable of, without the pressures of the road.

The Machine Handling Day is aimed at newer or less experienced riders with a full UK driving licence who want to build confidence in a professional, supportive setting. It’s particularly well-suited to riders who haven’t completed the Advanced Rider course.
That said, even riders with plenty of miles under their belt can benefit from focused skills development, especially if they haven’t taken part in other rider development activities.
