In today’s complex business environment, having an up-to-date and effective Business Continuity Plan (BCP) is essential – regardless of an organisations size. A well-prepared BCP helps minimise disruption and ensures a swift recovery during times of crisis.

This course introduces participants to the core principles of business continuity, highlighting the importance of identifying critical services and activities, and preparing for potential disruptions.

Participants will gain a clear understanding of key business continuity concepts and terminology, learn how to create and maintain a practical BCP and explore steps for identifying risks and maintaining essential services during emergencies.

The session includes short, interactive exercises to help participants apply learning to their own organisation and begin developing a tailored continuity process.

· Identifying the key / priority business areas

· Identifying the critical functions, people and priorities (strategic and operational)

· Identify dependencies (Primary, Secondary and Tertiary) between various business areas and functions

· How to undertake a critical incident review

· Allow them to understand the different levels of critical incident and the impact of these on potential recovery times

· How to determine their Recovery Point Objective (RTP) for each major area

· How to determine their Recovery Time Objective (RTO) individual and collective

Trainer Overview:

Brian Grimshaw is a Senior associate trainer with AKU training with a strong track record of designing and delivering training solutions across both the private and public sectors. Brian has delivered Business Continuity training for AKU for many years in addition to work with other training/consultancy organisations where he has provided training, testing and consultancy in the UK, Europe and the Gulf regions.
