Whether you're looking to build confidence with patchwork or simply enjoy a creative sewing session, you'll leave with a finished cushion cover or the skills and confidence to complete your work or incorporate it into a larger project.You'll learn how to measure, cut and sew a simple patchwork design that can easily be scaled up or down, repeated in multiples or adapted for future projects such as quilts, bags or table runners.Part 1: Sunday, 12th April 2pm - 4pmPart 2: Sunday, 19th April 2pm - 4pmYou need to attend both sessions to complete your project.Across the two sessions, you will learn:how to plan and cut patchwork pieces accuratelyhow to construct a simple patchwork block designsewing and pressing techniques for neat resultshow to assemble your cushion cover to fit your pad.At the Textile Repair Cafe, we keep our class sizes small to allow plenty of time for you to ask questions or get a bit of 1 to 1 guidance if necessary.N B: These workshops are for those aged 16 years and over only. Sorry, no accompanying children or babies.WHAT TO BRINGFabric: Please note that non-stretchy cotton works best. We have a limited selection of suitable fabrics at the Textile Repair Cafe, but we encourage you to bring your own leftover fabric scraps. Alternatively, you could cut up and incorporate some of your favourite old clothes or household linens, but please make sure they are freshly laundered.
