Breaking Free: Women's Self-Defense and Evasion Workshop is a hands-on, scenario-based self-defense training designed for women, by experts and is part of the Femme Force Training program, a women's self-defense initiative created by Sister, We Hear You.

Being held at Industrial Dance Project in Crown Point, IN on
January 9, 2025 from 6:30pm - 8:00pm.

In this interactive 90-minute session, you’ll learn practical, real-world techniques to escape from common restraints including zip ties, duct tape, and rope as well as how to break free from grabs and holds. You’ll not only learn the skills, you’ll practice them in a supportive, empowering environment.

Led by Police Sergeant Bobby Ballas, Mixed Martial Artist and Certified Defense Tactics Instructor & Trainer and Lisa Kaszubski, CMP, MCPC, Expert Facilitator, Award-Winning Industry Leader, Certified Coach and currently training in Martial Arts, this experience combines real-world defense tactics with confidence-building mindset work.

Use body leverage and technique, not strength, to get free
Increase awareness and reaction speed in real scenarios

This event is for women 18+ who want to build confidence, awareness, and practical skills that could save their life or someone else’s.

No prior experience required. Come ready to move, learn, and leave stronger.

• Globally, an estimated 736 million women, one in three, have been subjected to some form of physical and/or sexual violence, at least once in their life.
• The most recent global estimates from the U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime show that, on average, more than 5 women or girls are killed every hour (or one every 11 minutes) by someone in their own family.
• One in five women in the United States experienced completed or attempted rape during their lifetime.

• 81% of women reported experiencing some form of sexual harassment and/or assault in their lifetime.
• According to the United Nations’ International Labour Organization, human traffickers victimize an estimated 27.6 million people worldwide. 23% are in sex trafficking of which 78% are women and girls.
