This small-group, 6-week course blends the best of both worlds — outdoor adventures and indoor comfort. Each week, the group will decide together whether to meet at the park or move indoors to a local pet-friendly store, depending on the weather.

It’s training that fits real life — breezes, leaves, store aisles, shopping carts, and all!

? What Is STAR Puppy?

The AKC STAR Puppy program stands for Socialization, Training, Activity, and Responsibility — and it’s all about setting young dogs (and their humans) up for success.

You’ll learn the fundamentals that make daily life smoother and build lasting trust through play, structure, and laughter. Scarlet’s positive, fear-free approach keeps things fun while helping your puppy gain confidence in every environment.

Engagement & name recognition (“Heads-Up!” game)

Sit, down, come, and stay with real-life focus

Polite greetings & four-on-the-floor manners

Leash walking foundations & impulse control

“Leave it” & “drop it” for safety and clarity

Handling & grooming confidence

Socialization with people, surfaces, and sounds

Every week includes fun challenges, games, and fieldwork, so you can practice what really matters — calm focus and connection in the real world.
