The Pine River paddles pays tribute to the source of the abundant loon habitat on the Whitefish Chain of Lakes. The Crosslake Dam is about midway from the source and the mouth of the 60-mile Pine River.This paddle will cover one of the most popular and reliable stretches: a 2 hour paddle from the Pine River Rock Dam (just south of Crosslake) to what is referred to as the Snowmobile Trail (off Co 11). It is a scenic section of the river as it meanders through woods and marshes. The flow is gentile, and it is shallow the whole way. This is a paddle that everyone can enjoy, from beginners to those with some experience! You take this road to the end of the pavement. At this point take the dirt road to the left and take it to the next right turn. Go up over the hill and you will arrive at our launch point.
