I cannot tell you how much I love these Retreat Days - and I think that the word "treat" is in there for a reason...

Often, in classes, or online, I can teach a snippet of what I have learnt about how to support your health and wellbeing, but these days give me the opportunity to talk with you in person about the things I have read, the things I have learnt, the things I have experienced and really, what has made the difference. What have been the lightbulb moments. What can I share that will help you too.


Here are the details of the day - and don't worry if you have been before, because I promise to share with you the new stuff I have learnt - and there is so much out there.

What the Day Will Include
I have called this day "Spring into Strength" - whether that is strength of character, determination, muscle, bone or even brain power. There is no end to which we can continue to change.


I have set about a day that looks at some of the latest thinking into how we can help support our health and wellbeing, so we are not complaining about "feeling tired" but filling our cups with joy.

​There are new talks and some faves - because I think I might be in big trouble if I drop the Disco-Diva workout!


Disco Diva now starts the day - because in all fairness, we come feeling a little bit anxious, so why not burn off that worry with some light-hearted way to move, laugh and remind ourselves that exercise does not have to feel serious to be effective.


Next comes a chance to listen to some of the research about how we can use our diet (what we do every day) alongside our nutrition (what we choose to eat) to see how that influences our everyday energy, how our hormones influence our appetite, our insulin sensitivity, our bone health, sleep, stress and even our hair and nails! Yes, eating is more about our feeling good than how much we weigh. Find out what can help you regain your everyday health and wellbeing.

If you find that the thought of "strength" a bit overwhelming, or you want to get stronger, but don't know how, or you have an injury or condition that limits your movement, then why not have a go at trying some Pilates with weights? Ideally, bring your own, because then you can use something you already have at home, but I will bring some with me too. Find out why building strength is more than what we look like, as it is all about our bone health, muscle mass and metabolism.

As cheesy as it sounds, I actually love the phrase "glow up" because it seems to be about polishing something we already have - that is us! Over the years, I have realised that one thing does not suit all. This sessions looks at what we need to do in 4 specific areas of our life so that we feel good, sleep well, shine at what we do, have energy and enthusiasm and glow from the inside out. A talk after lunch is all that we need to settle in. Your handbook will give you more detail, but this is all about chatting together about things we know, things I have found out from science and bringing it all together.


I am a practical person at heart. Very straightforward about dealing with the problem and so this is an active session, with a huge boring title of "Functional Fitness" - but, to be honest, just the basics like, getting up and down off the floor with ease, picking up the log basket and putting the suitcase in the overhead locker without having to ask for help. Practical exercise with explanations that make sense to help you move like a spirng chicken.


Ending the day with a led relaxation, because we all want to chill out and take time out, so why not make this a lesson where you 'have to" do it! Yes, it works, yes, I will explain how and why, and yes, you can fall asleeep, but it is more about regulating your hormones. Enjoy. Bring warm layers, a blanket and a pillow or small cushion x
