- **Event Name**: New Victoria Centre, Howden-Le-Wear - The Phantom of the Opera (1925) Played LIVE by Aaron Hawthorne
- **Event Start and End Date**: Sun, 23 Nov, 2025 at 02:30 pm
- **Event Description**: AARON HAWTHORNE returns to the New Victoria Wurlitzer with his accompaniment to the 1925 classic silent movie 'The Phantom of the Opera' starring LON CHANEY.

Aaron has become one of the World's top accompanists of silent movies and as someone who knows our Wurlitzer 'inside-out' this is an event not to miss! 2024 saw Aaron spending countless days working on his first CD recording at the New Victoria Centre* and, of course, he has played there in concert on many occasions since he first visited us as a student.

* The CD 'The Most Wurlitzer Time of the Year' is packed with great range of superb Christmas music and is available from our website www.netoa.org.uk

As part of the Royal College of Organists' 'Play the Organ Year 2025' , David will be running a 'Play the Organ' event on the previous day (Saturday 4th October) when anyone can come and try their hand at playing the Wurlitzer (whatever their experience!) and then this concert will feature explanations of how the music is interpreted on the theatre organ and how some of the registrations (combination of stops) are derived to get particular sounds + of course, lots of music too!

The NETOA Wurlitzer is one of the largest and most versatile instruments of its type in Europe and has been extensively restored with the aid of a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. Expect a wide variety of music - old and new, popular and classical.

Tea, coffee, soft drinks and ice cream available at the interval.
