The third instalment of these events will feature a wealth of well-known Woodturners all demonstrating, for FREE, at our FREE to attend event, hosted on-site, right here at Yandles.

From bowls to hollow forms, goblets to boxes, we are assembling an A-Team of top demonstrators to showcase their skills on the lathe. Supported by Record Power, each Woodturner will have their own lathe &amp; will be demonstrating throughout the day.

Special guests:

    Mike Holton – Woodturning

Mike Holton, YouTube Star will LIVE at Yandles for the very first time! Mike is a creative Woodturner who has a wealth of experience turning a wide range of timbers &amp; mixed materials. Mike shares his tips &amp; techniques alongside experimental projects through his YouTube Channel Mike Holton Hand Made Crafts. Mike will be demonstrating ‘Winged bowls’ from half logs &amp; crotch pieces, followed by colouring techniques.

    Martin Saban-Smith – Woodturning

Martin Saban-Smith is a British woodturner, teacher, author, and Registered Professional Turner (RPT) known for his engaging demonstrations, creative designs, and commitment to sharing woodturning skills with a global audience. Based in Hampshire, UK, Martin discovered his passion for woodturning in 2014 and has since built a dynamic career combining craftsmanship, education, and community building. Martin runs his own teaching school, offering hands-on tuition from beginner to advanced woodturners and produces a large library of instructional content, including nearly 300 YouTube videos!

    Jason Breach – Woodturning

Jason Breach tutor, and Registered Professional Turner (RPT), celebrated for his creativity, technical skill, and innovative approach to turned wood forms. Born and based in Devon, England, Jason’s fascination with wood and the lathe began at the age of 12, and he has since developed a distinguished career in the craft. He earned a BA (Hons) degree in Furniture Design and Management after studying at Buckingham College in High Wycombe, and although he still appreciates fine furniture making, his true passion lies in woodturning, particularly in designing and creating distinctive boxes and hollow forms that highlight the natural beauty of timber. Jason’s work has won awards in prestigious competitions, and he continues to push creative boundaries with series like his Orbital Arc boxes

    Sally Burnett- Pyrography on Woodturing

Sally Burnett is a designer-maker and accomplished woodturner celebrated for her elegant, richly textured vessels and sculptural forms that combine traditional turning with detailed surface decoration—including pyrography, carving, acrylic colour, and metal leaf. Sally’s work transforms natural materials into distinctive pieces that balance organic form with artistic surface detail. Her work has gained international attention, featured in exhibitions such as Maison et Objet in Paris and held in private collections, galleries, and bespoke interior commissions worldwide. Sally’s pieces, often inspired by landscape, texture, and light, showcase a fusion of craftsmanship and artistic expression that resonates across both craft and fine art audiences.

    Paul Ridler RPT – Woodturning Sessions / try before you buy!

Paul Ridler is a seasoned British woodturner and Registered Professional Turner (RPT) with over 30 years of experience at the lathe, known both for his craftsmanship and his dedication to teaching woodturning skills to others. He regularly leads woodturning demonstrations and training sessions, based right here at Yandles, including taster sessions and workshops at events. Paul will be in our training room, guiding participants through techniques ranging from basic turning to texturing, decoration, and green woodwork – available by appointment only!

    Stewart Furini – Woodturning

Stewart Furini is a Registered Professional Turner (RPT), and respected tutor best known for his innovative use of colour and texture to enhance turned wood pieces. Based in Brighton, England, Stewart combines traditional woodturning with decorative techniques like airbrushing, staining, and texturing to create visually striking bowls, platters and other forms.

    Dan Tarrant – Woodturning

Our very own Dan Tarrant (RPT) is known for his engaging teaching style and dedication to sharing woodturning skills with makers of all levels. Dan spends most of his time working here at Yandles &amp; is known for his wealth of knowledge &amp; teaching experience, but when he’s not helping in the shop or teaching course, Dan specialises in crafting everyday turned items such as breadboards, plates, lamps, and decorative vases, combining practical functionality with thoughtful design.

    Gianni Deidda – Scroll sawing, with Pegas!

Gianni Deidda is a skilled scroll saw artist and demonstrator known within the UK woodworking community for his expertise in intricate scroll saw techniques and creative woodcut projects. Originally from Sardinia, Italy, Gianni relocated to England, where he has shared his passion for scroll sawing with clubs and groups across the country, demonstrating detailed work on multiple scroll saw machines and inspiring fellow woodworkers with his versatility and precision. He first engaged with the scroll saw from an early age and has since developed an extensive repertoire of 2D and 3D scroll-sawn pieces. His hands‑on approach and ability to make intricate scroll saw work accessible have made him a respected figure among scroll saw and woodworking enthusiasts in the UK.

    AWGB – Woodturning

The Association of Woodturners of Great Britain (AWGB) is the national body dedicated to promoting and advancing the craft of woodturning both within the UK and internationally. Established in August 1987, the AWGB is a registered charity and non‑profit organisation made up of individual members, corporate members, and affiliated woodturning clubs who share a collective passion for the art and craft of turning wood. The AWGB provides education, training support, information, and community for turners of all abilities, connecting hobbyists and professionals alike.     Martock &amp; District Woodturners – Woodturning

Martock &amp; District Woodturners is a friendly, community‑focused woodturning club in Martock, Somerset, England, dedicated to promoting the craft of woodturning and bringing together enthusiasts of all skill levels. Woodturning Techniques – back for 2026

Come &amp; try out some woodturning techniques inside Yandles Training Room under the guidance of Paul Ridler RPT. We will be hosting some unique sessions inside our training room, with only 4-spaces on each session, be sure to book in advance to avoid disappointment. Please note, these Woodturning sessions are aimed at woodturners with at least a basic level of experience.
