Join us for a powerful and uplifting afternoon of music as we celebrate a double milestone: the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and a landmark year for NKCC, the end of our 45th anniversary season!

Our April 2026 concert, "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness", will unfold in three thematic sections—each inspired by one of the founding American ideals. Through a rich blend of choral works, this program reimagines the spirit of the nation with music that speaks to our shared history and collective future.

Highlights include:

▪ Works by Kentucky composers

▪ Traditional spirituals of the Underground Railroad

▪ Texts by celebrated Kentucky poet, Wendell Berry

▪ A tribute to veterans and active service members during the "Liberty" section—honoring those in our audience and chorus

▪ Reflections on human connection, community, and hope in the “Life” and “Pursuit of Happiness” sections

Our Special Guests: The Queen City Sisters
We’re thrilled to welcome The Queen City Sisters, a dynamic vocal trio known for their tight harmonies and vintage flair! They’ll perform throughout the program with nostalgic favorites from the 1940s–60s, including songs made famous by Kentucky legend Rosemary Clooney. Their vibrant energy will add a joyful, memorable touch to this celebration of American ideals.
