? Trivia Marathon FAQ
1. What is this event?
A 36-hour trivia marathon hosted by Jay Borsom at Critical Grind Board Game Café, aiming to set a Guinness World Record.

2. How is the world record attempt being verified?
The entire event will be video recorded. A complete list of all questions will be provided, and independent witnesses and timekeepers will verify the attempt for submission to Guinness World Records.

3. What is the refund or cancellation policy?
As proceeds benefit worthwhile charities, refunds will not be issued. There is no guarantee that the event will last all 36 hours due to the nature of the event. In case of postponement, tickets will still be honored.

4. Are there prizes or awards for top teams?
Raffle-style prizes will likely be offered throughout the event to in-person participants. There are no prizes for competitive play, as the event is centered on the record attempt itself. Play for pride and to be part of history!

5. Is there a minimum age requirement?
Minors are welcome to participate with parental supervision. Some content may skew to a more mature level, so parents should consider that accordingly.

6. What are the venue’s accessibility features?
Critical Grind is wheelchair accessible. Questions will be presented both audibly and visually to accommodate participants with hearing or visual impairments.

7. Where can I park and what are the local transit options?
Free parking is available in the parking lot. The nearest Metra train station is approximately 20 minutes away in Joliet.

8. Are outside food and drinks allowed?
Outside food is allowed, but no outside beverages. In addition, Critical Grind offers toasts, snacks, and some hot food options in addition to their fantastic coffee, tea. smoothie, refresher, and other beverages.

9. How will breaks and restroom runs be handled?
For every completed hour of the marathon, Jay earns 5 minutes of break time. This time can be accrued and used as necessary.

10. Can I participate with remote teammates?
Teams may either participate in person or online, but teams cannot be composed of players of both types for technical reasons.

11. Will there be themed rounds?
Each individual round (of over 200!!!) will have some sort of theme, but the event overall can be considered to be General Knowledge. Some content provided generously by members of the trivia community, including the Trivia Writers Co-Op.

12. What happens if there’s a Twitch technical issue?
The Twitch stream will be online unless technical issues occur. If the stream goes down, we will endeavor to get it back up, but the attempt doesn't require the stream, so it is a secondary concern.

13. How do I submit technical or accessibility requests in advance?
Special accommodation requests can be directed to Liquid Kourage Entertainment or Critical Grind prior to the event as necessary.

14. Is there a recommended team size or strategy?
Teams may vary in size, provided that at all times there are at least 2 teams of 4 or more players. Avoid making large teams because questions will only be answerable in a 30-second window each.

15. Can we spectate in-person without playing?
Yes! Spectators online and in-person are encouraged, provided the appropriate ticket sales and/or online donations occur.
