Meet the Therapy Dogs

Meet the Therapy Dogs! On Saturday, Jan. 24, 10am, therapy dog handlers will read a story about therapy dogs and children will be able to meet 2 of the dogs, including a collie named Banner.

Studies have shown that reading to animals improves reading fluency, accuracy, and comprehension, as well as increased motivation for reading and increased confidence.

Pre-registration will begin in January to schedule 15 minutes for your child to read 1:1 with a dog. ***If your child is allergic or fearful of dogs, this is NOT the event to attend.***

Therapy dogs will be scheduled one Saturday/month during Story Time.

Each handler must have insurance for their dog, up-to-date veterinary vaccines, and certification hours.
