Many historic features still survive, including the grid-like layout of the streets and the Navy yard. This presentation will showcase a selection of these features, some of which have changed in many ways, while others remain almost untouched.PresenterThis talk will be delivered by Brenda and Elphin Watkin of the Essex Historic Buildings Group (EHBG). Brenda is a former historic buildings officer at Essex County Council, now retired. She is a founder member and former chairperson of the EHBG and was honorary secretary of the Vernacular Architecture Group for 11 years. Elphin previously worked in engineering and has worked with historic buildings for over 30 years.
