- **Event Description**: This special event will cover the artistic & scientific aspects of the Sound Healing field. Also known as Sound Meditation, Sound Therapy, or Soundbath, this is an ancient tradition with modern applications. This event will introduce you to the fundamentals of how it works, some of the instruments used, and will address the question: "is sound a healing force on its own, or does it create conditions where the body can heal itself?". You will get to learn about, and listen to, "Himalayan Singing bowls", and a pair of traditional Chinese Gongs.

Note, the title of this event is inspired by the name of a Facebook group run by Thomas Orr Anderson - Author and Teacher, of the same name, a group I joined around 2017 when I first became active on social media and began discussing my ideas around Sound Healing, seeing errors in my thinking and growing beyond them. It was a pivotal time in my own development. Thomas encouraged the study of physics and acoustics to deepen understanding of the therapeutic effects of sound.

Event facilitated by Oren Selah, bringing 40+ years of personal experience and research working with Sound & Music, and 15+ years of facilitating events for the public, along with degrees in Music Performance, Education, Psychology,  and certification in Somatic Trauma-Integration practices.

There is no cost for this event hosted by the Del Norte County Library District & Echoes Within.
