This was not to help himself but to help his friends get off the streets and show thanks to the church that supported him. This decision earned him major national and local press attention including from the BBC, ITV, The Times and Sky News.After the success of the initial concert Rhys was asked by churches all over the Duchy to play concerts and embarked on what became known as the "The Nightchurch Piano Tour". To date, including a show at his dream venue Truro Cathedral, Rhys has fundraised over £37,500 for homeless, mental health and earth charities. He has also released his first EP "Hi & Bye", won the 2025 ITV West Country's Pride of Britain Regional Fundraiser Award.
