I have been a Teacher of Food for over 24 years & Head of Dept for 8 or those years and have been involved in many projects both online and face to face offered by the Food Teachers Centre since becoming an Ambassador in 2017.
Taking early retirement, I have successfully supported secondary schools in mentoring food teachers improve their teaching. I have also had short term supply contracts in schools where the department has been left with no food teacher to get the y11 groups through their GCSE. I am also involved in delivering practical food lessons to primary groups. I firmly believe all students should have the experience of high-quality practical food lessons as this is a life skill once learnt will be always used.
I have a great passion and love to share my experience with teachers coming into this exciting area of the National Curriculum. My aim is to support teachers and build their confidence in teaching practical food sessions.
