TROUT FISHING TOURNAMENT – COMPETITION RULES
1. Registration & Briefing
Registration opens at 7:00 AM and closes at 7:45 AM (no exceptions).
A 15-minute briefing will follow in English and Russian. If you need help, contact any organizer.
2. Boat Start Position
After receiving your boat, sail 50–60 meters to the right from the parking area and wait there for the other participants.
3. Fishing Time Limit
All fishing must STOP at 4:00 PM.
If your team reaches the limit (16 trout per team) before 4:00 PM, you must stop fishing and return to base to weigh your catch.
If you go ashore and do not weigh your catch, you will be disqualified.
4. Return to Base
All participants must return to the base by 4:00 PM.
Fish will be weighed directly at the dock.
⚠️ Arriving after 4:00 PM = DISQUALIFICATION
5. Early Return Bonus
If your team catches 16 trout and returns to base early, you will receive a 300 g bonus for each full 60 minutes, 150 g for each full 30 minutes if you arrive before 4:00 PM.
6. Weigh-In Records
After weighing, organizers will photograph your catch and results for accurate record-keeping.

7. Allowed Tackle
Only the following are permitted:
Spoons
Hard lures
Spinners
Soft plastic baits
🚫 Trolling is strictly prohibited
8. Prohibited Baits & Methods
The following are strictly forbidden:
Worms (live or artificial)
Larvae
PowerBait, corn, or similar bait
Floats or bottom fishing gear
Fly fishing (flies or similar lures)
Violation = Disqualification
9. Electronic Equipment
🚫 Fish finders and sonar devices are NOT allowed during the competition.
🚤 BOAT & WATER RULES
10. Distance Between Boats
Boats must not approach closer than 30 meters while maneuvering
Minimum distance during fishing: 50 meters
Violation = Disqualification
11. Restricted Areas
Keep at least 50 meters away from the dam
Anchoring near the main tower is prohibited (risk of damaging equipment)
🐟 FISH HANDLING
12. Fish Storage
Keeping fish in the water (keepnets or stringers) is prohibited.
All caught rainbow trout must be humanely killed and stored in a cooler or bag.
13. No Catch & Release
Releasing small fish back into the water will result in disqualification.
🎁 There is also a special prize for the smallest trout.
🎯 COMPETITION CONDUCT
14. Rod & Hook Rules
Multiple hooks or multiple lures on one rod are prohibited
Only one rod in the water at a time
Violation = Exclusion from the competition
15. Practice Restriction
🚫 Fishing at Bewl Water Reservoir is prohibited for all participants during the 5 days leading up to the competition.
Violation may result in disqualification.
16. Liability
Organizers are not responsible for damage to fishing gear, boats, or motors.
17. Venue Rules
Participants must follow the general rules of Bewl Water Reservoir and properly dispose of all trash.
18. Sportsmanship
Treat fellow competitors with respect.
Insults, rudeness, and unsportsmanlike behavior are not allowed. Be professional anglers and follow all requirements.
