International Blues & Soul Spectacular Comes to Tenterden: The Tenterden Rhythm & Blues Revue
TENTERDEN, KENT – Rockin’ Roots Events is proud to announce a major expansion to the lineup of The Tenterden Rhythm & Blues Revue, taking place this Bank Holiday Sunday, 24th May 2026, at the iconic Old Dairy Taproom.
Already set to be a highlight of the 2026 blues calendar, the event has just added significant star power with the announcement of a very special guest and a new international opening act.
Oli Mississippi MacDonald Joined by Soul Sensation RaRa Headliner Oli Mississippi MacDonald, recently hailed as one of the most exciting bluesmen of his generation, will be bringing his full band to Tenterden. In a special treat for attendees, he will be joined on stage by the incredible singer RaRa as a very special guest.
RaRa (
https://www.raraofficial.com/) is a force of nature in the soul world. Currently working with Grammy Award-winning producer Lawrence ‘Boo’ Mitchell at the legendary Royal Studios in Memphis, RaRa’s sound is drenched in rich southern soul, channeling the energy of 1960s icons like Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner. Her addition to the set promises a unique collision of London grit and Memphis soul that is not to be missed.
The UK’s Kings of Jump Blues: Chris Corcoran Big Band Also gracing the stage is the Chris Corcoran Big Band, widely recognized as one of the finest instrumental outfits in the country. Hailed as the "Brit King of Jump Blues," Corcoran and his seven-piece ensemble deliver a sophisticated, high-octane "wall of sound" that channels the swinging energy of the 1950s. With a lineup featuring a blistering horn section and a rhythm section that swings like a pendulum, they offer a unique masterclass in vintage R&B. Having earned "Best Instrumental Album" accolades from Blues Junction Productions for three consecutive releases, their set promises a dynamic, foot-tapping tour de force.
USA Bluesman Max Hightower to Kick Things Off Opening the show with a dose of authentic international blues is Max Hightower (USA) and his band. A South Carolina native and founding member of Mac Arnold’s Plate Full O’ Blues, Hightower is known for his raw, funky mix of New Orleans groove and Carolina grit. He will be flying in to kick off the festivities, setting the perfect tone for a day of world-class music.
A Unique Musical Convergence Beyond the individual sets, ticketholders should be prepared for an exclusive opportunity to witness what happens when this level of talent gathers under one roof. This is a rare chance to see these artists not just perform, but interact in a live, high-energy environment.
