This is a free, community get-together where everyone brings something in a shape of a ball made from a cookbook they already own. It could be something sweet like a rum ball, a savoury like an arancini or if you are feeling fancy goats cheese & pistachio balls rolled in herbs. 

Simply choose a recipe from your cookbook that fits the theme, cook it at home, and bring it along to share. We’ll gather outdoors for a relaxed, potluck-style picnic filled with good food, easy conversation, and shared recipes.

What do I need to bring?
- Your dish + any serving utensils
- Your cookbook
- Picnic blanket or cushion/ foldable chairs
- Reusable plate, cup & cutlery (we’ll have limited disposables)
- BYO water bottle and Sun protection (might be a hot day)
- insulated bag / ice pack (food safety!)
- Optional: extra containers for leftovers
And of course… yourself!

How does Cookbook Club work?
1. We announce a theme
2. You choose a recipe from a cookbook you own
3. Cook the dish at home
4. Bring your dish and the cookbook to the meet-up
5. We eat, share, and chat about what we made

It’s a fun way to try new recipes, meet new people, and enjoy cookbooks together.

I’m bad at cooking, can I still come?
Absolutely. Cookbook Club is for all skill levels. Simple recipes are just as loved.

Can I come alone?
Yes! and we encourage it! Many people will be coming solo. It’s a friendly, low-pressure way to meet new people.

Food safety & allergies
Please follow basic food safety guidelines when preparing your dish. This is a shared-food event, so there may be traces of allergens. If you have serious allergies, please let us know ahead of time and bring any preventive measures you may need, just in case. You’re responsible for managing your own dietary needs. The event organisers are not liable for any health issues or reactions related to the food prepared and shared at the event.
