During the Second World War, Britain’s hedgerows and fields were more than just scenery — they were a vital source of food. People turned to wild plants to stretch their rations and survive tough times.

Join Gemma Gee – The Cramlington Forager - for a hands-on indoor workshop exploring the lost skills of wartime foraging. Learn about the plants people relied on, hear fascinating stories from the Home Front, and discover how ordinary communities survived using what was around them.

What you’ll do:

* Explore the history of wartime food shortages and rationing
* Learn which wild plants were gathered and why
* Get practical tips for identifying edible plants (indoors!)
* Hear stories that bring everyday wartime Britain to life
