Through games, fun education sessions and creative activities, this award will help you and your children learn about our local woodlands, develop practical skills and connect with nature. By achieving the SJFA award, you will feel empowered to actively care for our natural world and maybe even have made some new friends! Each day of the 3-day programme will introduce two new sections and completing all three days will enable children to achieve their award – and receive a certificate!These sessions will take place outdoors, and everyone will need to be dressed suitably for the weather, including sturdy boots, raincoats and warm layers. We will provide work gloves and eye protection as needed. A responsible adult will be required to stay with the group for the duration of the session. There’ll be plenty opportunity for accompanying adults to join in the fun and learn something new as well. The day will be broken up with plenty of breaks throughout the day, so please bring lunch, drinks and snacks.The cost for the 3-day programme will be £20 per child. The National Trust for Scotland is an independent charity which aims to protect, care for, share and speak up for Scotland's magnificent heritage. We heavily depend on the generosity of those who use our sites to support the valuable work carried out across the Trust. NTS members are entitled to free parking across all our sites otherwise the charge is £5 per day.Please be sure to register a space for each child planning to attend the Scottish Junior Forester Award Programme. There is no need for accompanying adults to register, but one must be present each day with each child or family group.
