Annie Wilson and her band Tallgrass Express have completed a major songwriting and recording project. “Out on the Tallgrass Prairie” is a double album with 32 songs - an epic addition to their “Songs of the Flint Hills” series – now 88 songs in 6 volumes. They plan to perform many songs from the new album.
A magnificent dinner will be served and prepared...
This year's cash bar proceeds will benefit the 1900 Opera House/Auditorium/Theater in Strong City Renovation Project.
Carved in stone above the front doors is AUDITORIUM 1900. The building, completed in 1901, became known as the Strong City Opera House. In the 1920s, the structure was converted into a movie house and named the RIALTO. In 1931 came another name change: UPTOWN. The theater later closed and sat vacant in disrepair.
In 2002, the Strong City Preservation Alliance, Inc., a 501 C(3) non-profit organization was established. Whose main objective is saving the 1900 Opera House/Auditorium/Theater.
Volunteers from the SCPA will be happy to serve you and tell you stories of the magnificent progress being made to save this historic building!
