Sundays @ 3 is excited to present some of the most beloved music for the holiday season just four days before Christmas -- George Frideric Handel's ubiquitous Messiah. This monumental work, known around the world primarily for the famous "Hallelujah Chorus", uses Biblical texts to tell the story of the coming of a savior, the birth of Christ, and Christ's eventual death and resurrection.
This concert, featuring the Sanctuary Choir of Good Samaritan Church accompanied by an orchestra and joined by professional vocal soloists, will present Part 1 of Messiah, the part that tells the Christmas story.
For many, the Christmas season doesn't begin before hearing a performance of Handel's Messiah. Here's your chance to get into the Christmas spirit, just in time for the holiday!
Also featured on the program is Handel's effervescent Organ Concerto in F Major, a delightful, joyful piece for organ and orchestra originally intended to entertain crowds in between acts of Handel's oratorio Athalia.
A festive reception will follow the concert with refreshments and a chance to greet the performers.
And, did we mention that all of the above is totally FREE? All are welcome to join us in celebrating the holidays with the incredible music of Handel's Messiah.
