Critics praise him as a magician of sound a master of spirituality and archaic forms. His magnificent work Tabula Rasa is a worldwide success of contemporary music and became instantly famous in the West thanks to musicians like Gidon Kremer. The cycle Eine (andere) Winterreise was commissioned by Gidon Kremer in 2022 to mark the 25th anniversary of Kremerata Baltica.
