About the event
Mass for the Solemnity of the Anniversary of the Dedication of Corpus Christi Cathedral
On July 17, we celebrate the 85th Anniversary of the Dedication of Corpus Christi Cathedral (July 17, 1940). This is a feast celebrated throughout our diocese; however, In the Cathedral itself, this is ranked as a solemnity (the highest rank of a celebration).
Although Corpus Christi Cathedral is currently closed for renovation, we can still give thanks for the blessing of the mother church of the diocese and look forward with anticipation to its reopening.
We will celebrate the Solemnity on this date (Thu. July 17) with the 7:00 am and 12:05 pm daily Mass for the Solemnity being celebrated in Emmanuel Chapel.
The 12:05 pm Mass will be followed by Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. The period of Adoration will conclude at 5:45 pm with Solemn Vespers and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament in Emmanuel Chapel.
