Day 1: Introduction to Watercolor, Drawing, Washes and Tonal Studies
Students will be introduced to the watercolor painting process in three easy steps. They will become proficient in the fundamentals of drawing, proportion, and perspective. Tonal studies will be created and painted in watercolor to highlight the importance of value. Instructor Al Kline will teach and demonstrate the basic principles of drawing and painting with watercolor.
Day 2: Watercolor Painting & Texturing
Students will gain greater proficiency in understanding composition and the steps involved in painting luminous watercolor. Al Kline will provide a demonstration students will paint along with.
Day 3: Putting it all together
Students will become proficient in foundational washes, texturing techniques, design and composition concepts, understanding watercolor techniques, managing watercolor edges, and integrating all three stages of watercolor painting to create dynamic works of art.

Instructor Bio:
Al Kline is a Signature-Merit Artist who began painting watercolor in April 2017. He is a signature member of the Southwestern Watercolor Society (SWS) and Watercolor Society of South Texas (WSST). He is also member selected for exhibitions in both the American and National Watercolor Societies of America (AWS,NWS). Join him in this journey of discovery!
