In this two-hour demonstration, witness professional artist Jeffrey Neel McDaniel utilize his expert oil painting techniques as he captures beautiful sunrises and sun sets in precise brush strokes. This demonstration will be a wonderful opportunity for art lovers and creatives of all levels to come together, experience Jeffery’s creative process, and participate in engaging conversations about art.
This demonstration is the perfect introduction to Jeffrey's following "Dusk to Dawn" Oil painting class happening Saturday, October 25th
About the Artist:
My crepuscular paintings are always about the emotions connected with sunrise/dawn and sunsets/dusk. An artist instructor told me that when we paint the landscape we are trying to capture a place, a time, and an emotion.
These daily events, dawn and dusk, are a shortcut to peoples feelings. dawn being connected to hope, optimism, freshness, a new start, and possibilities. Dusk or days end, is associated with peace, contentment, rest, and serenity.
These subjects are not only a joy to paint with their exciting vibrant colors, but fulfill an artists duty to either “comfort the disturbed, or disturb the comfortable “. Since I am licensed professional counselor, my work goal involves helping people whose life has been disrupted, “to comfort the disturbed”, and so my art goal to help people becomes an extension of my profession.
