What more do you want? Vacation Time! This summer we able to host this event on the Pacific shore side of Silver Strand State Beach in Coronado, San Diego. All of the Elements will be lined up (pretty much) right at the sand, waves crashing just a few paces away. Not a local? Want to join us? GREAT! Do this: 1. RSVP 2. Details: Sunday June 28th 2026 10AM to 2PM (but you can stay in the park all day with the pass) Silver Strand State Beach (Parking Lot 2) 5000 CA-75, Coronado, CA 92118 32.628729, -117.139762 https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=654 State Park parking: $15 (tips for FREE passes below) Information/Rules (Don't get us kicked out!): We are going to be in Parking Lot 2. We had hoped to reserve part of Lot 1 just for us, but since it's post Memorial day, they ultimately denied the permit. That's fine! It's not a crowded lot, especially so early in the day, so we should have no trouble. So that makes us: A group of great people at the same place on the same day with the same kind of dope car. NOT any kind of "event" in the eyes of the State. So with that comes the same rules as anyone else. No... ...Tents or canopies IN the Parking Lot. Just set them up on the sand. We can't take up multiple spots per car. ...tables. Keep it on the sand. ---Food. On the beach or at the picnic tables. (a few BBQs around as well) ...Selling stuff in the park. (i.e. no $$ transactions or tables in the parking lot). ...Standing around in the middle of the parking lot lanes. Keep an eye on the kids. Respect other beachgoers. Reminder: Dogs must be on a leash at all times, and not on the sand, just the paved areas and walkways. You can find all the other rules here: https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=65 If you have a bike or any other 2-wheel vehicle, Silver Strand is awesome! Bring the bikes instead of the surfboards this time. Why we are using this location: It is almost impossible to find any public beach parking lot in San Diego (on a weekend in the summer) where we can all park together. The State Park option solves this. Also, this is a beautiful beach. Check out the pictures. BIG NOTE: As of 6/14 reports show that the water may not be good for SWIMMING. These things happen when you get further south in San Diego. The beach is fine, but maybe not the water. This may change, but keep this in mind. You can have dogs on all of the paved areas (including the parking lot and connecting walkways), just not on the sand (on the beach). So plan with that in mind. Camping: Not for the Element. There is a campground in this park for bigger campers. We can recommend other local campgrounds. Bathrooms: Yes. Private showers and changing rooms too. Food: Not provided, but welcome! Some shops within walking distance (tunnel to the bay side of the strand). Fire pits are on site. Some picnic benches. Extras: Pre meetup roll-out meet at 9:30AM that will take you through some of the BARRIO LOGAN Chicano Park district for some street art views, then across the CORONADO BAY BRIDGE, past the historic HOTEL DEL CORONADO, and down the Strand in full Element force to the meetup location at the beach. San Diego Elements does not make or take any money. We just want to share the space with you and bring together the Element community for a day on the beach. We are, however, using it as a ploy to get you to sign up for a Library Card if you don’t already have one (also free). Especially those of you in California. Silver Strand State Park participates in the California State Library Parks Pass program. Many California public libraries let cardholders “check out” a free State Parks vehicle day-use pass, which will cover parking for your Honda Element at Silver Strand (and multiple passengers). Availability varies by library and passes can go fast, so check with your local public library early and ask for the California State Library Parks Pass. This can be a great way to save on the day-use parking fee for the meetup. In San Diego (for example), you can check out a parking pass for two weeks at a time that permits you to park at almost ALL of the California State Parks, not just Silver Strand. So time it right and you park for free. The pass does not cover camping, group-use fees, special event fees, extra vehicles, oversized vehicles, or other add-on fees. Plan ahead—these passes are popular.
