Free Screening of The Christmas Classic "Scrooge"

**WHAT: **The Coronado Island Film Festival’s 2026 Student Classic Film Series previews the 2026 “The Art of Adaptation” Film Series with a special FREE Advent screening of the 1951 Christmas Classic, *Scrooge.*

***Charles Dickens’ novella, allegedly written in just six weeks, is a story so fixed in Christmas lore that most people cannot remember a time when they didn’t know the tale of the infamous miserly curmudgeon whose life is transformed by the visitations of Jacob Marley and the 3 haunting specters Marley sends on a mission to redeem Scrooge. Every medium produces its versions this seminal tale of redemption; hundreds of movies refer to it, takeoffs and spoofs appear in comic books, cartoons, and TV shows. Producer/Director Brian Desmond Hurst’s 1951 ‘Scrooge’ is arguably THE definitive screen adaptation of Charles Dickens’ legendary Christmas parable.***
