Exotic caulerpa is a fast-growing, non-native seaweed that can smother the seabed affecting your boating, fishing and diving.
It is in the waters of the Coromandel Peninsula, including Ahuahu Great Mercury Island, Repanga Cuvier Island and Northern Coromandel locations between Fantail Bay and Square Top Island.
Join us for a free community workshop about how to identify exotic caulerpa and what you can do to help protect our coastline from this marine pest.
Hear from experts on caulerpa identification and our national management strategy and connect with local biosecurity experts and iwi representatives working on the ground here in the Coromandel.
There will be a cuppa and nibbles available from 5:00–5:30pm. Stop in for a chat before we kick off the presentations at 5:30pm.
