Eco Farm Days: The Small Things That Count
Eco Farm Days is Eastern Ontario's premier organic farming event, running for 35 years.
This year's theme, "The Small Things That Count" has inspired topics on small management changes, paying attention to details, micro-organisms, adapting to change, and more.
Keynote presenter is Ben Hartman of Clay Bottom Farm in Northern Indiana, and author of "The Lean Farm: How to Minimize Waste, Increase Efficiency, and Maximize Value and Profits with Less Work".
Saturday features 12 additional conference sessions from both high profile and local presenters who are experts in the region, covering crops, livestock and more.
A dynamic Trade Show on Saturday offers products and services from local and regional organizations relevant to farmers.
Saturday night will have a social event including food and cash bar. There will be facilitated discussion to help keep the momentum of Eco Farm Days going and help you to build on new learning. This will be facilitated by the organization, Récolte, out of Montreal.
Sunday features two in depth, full day workshops:
- "Market Gardening with Lean: How to Earn a Comfortable Living with Less Waste and Work," with Ben Hartman
- "Successful Biological Orcharding," with Michael Phillips
Registration on both days includes an organic and mostly locally sourced buffet lunch.
