Crazy 7 Hexi Quilt Class

Date: Tuesdays, April 258th to June 16th, 2026
Time: 12:30pm to 3:30pm

In this 8 week class, students will build confidence in hand sewing through the creation of seven individually worked crazy quilt hexagons. Skills covered include hand piecing using freezer paper templates, stabilizing fabrics for embroidery, and layering materials to create depth and texture. Students will learn a variety of hand embroidery stitches, how to incorporate trims and beads securely, and how to manage threads, knots, and tension for durable handwork. The class also focuses on developing an intuitive approach to design. Students will practice working with colour, contrast, and texture while learning how to balance embellishment across a surface. Guidance is provided on planning and stitching decorative elements, working around seams, and adapting designs as the piece evolves. By the end of the class, students will have a strong foundation in hand construction and embellishment techniques that can be applied to future crazy quilting projects.
