Come build your own tiny carnivorous wetland with us!
If you were asked to imagine a landscape where carnivorous plants thrive, you might picture something wild and untamed with twisting greenery and ancient wetlands. It feels like something out of a storybook or a forgotten corner of the natural world.
In reality, these fascinating plants grow in bright, acidic, nutrient poor wetlands called bogs. With the right balance of light, moisture, and soil, that environment can be recreated right at home.
Join us for a hands on workshop where you’ll create your own mini carnivorous bog garden filled with incredible bug eating plants that thrive in wetland conditions. These tiny ecosystems are beautiful to watch and wonderfully functional, helping catch gnats, fruit flies, and other small pests.
During the workshop, you’ll learn how to build and care for a healthy carnivorous bog so your plants can thrive through spring and summer. Whether you’re a longtime plant lover or simply curious about these fascinating ecosystems, this is an easy and enjoyable way to learn something new and take home a living piece of nature.
