Using Visual Art as a Character Development Tool with Jamie Merrigan

We’re excited to share the news that community art studio is back, with excitement, open arms and a refreshed creative spirit!

Gather your friends and family to embark on a journey of imagination and artistic exploration! Each Saturday will be a different workshop, guided by a wonderful local artist in a series of different mediums!

This week we will have artist Jamie Merrigan deminstrate character construction with illistration to figure out how the character would react to a certain situations. In this workshop, participants will come up with a character idea, or use a character from a current project, and then use the basic shapes principals to draw a design of their character, exploring expression, posture and reaction to better understand them. The goal of this workshop is to give writers another tool for character development and exploration - writers with any level of drawing experience are invited to participate!
