What better way to step into a brand-new year than by chasing waterfalls, breathing in crisp mountain air, and sharing the trail with people who are walking into the same season of life as you?

On New Year’s Day, we’re heading out to explore a series of stunning, little-known waterfalls—the kind most people will never get to see. It’s a beautiful, refreshing adventure with just enough challenge to feel rewarding and sights that will take your breath away.

As we begin 2026, this hike is more than just scenery… it’s an opportunity to start the year seeking God together, enjoying His creation, and opening our hearts to the new things He wants to do in us. If you're ready for fresh beginnings, new friendships, and a moment to reflect on God’s goodness, this hike is the perfect place to start.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a single adult event. Also please do not bring pets or animals. Thank you for your cooperation.

HIKE DIFFICULTY D3+ with agility (some off trail with steep embankments) – 1 hike (5 miles total)
For your sake and the sake of the group, please do not assume beyond your ability.
Hike difficulty rating scale
D1 Easy (beginner hikers) flat terrain
D2 Easy to moderate (regular hikers) some hills
D3 Moderate (a cardio workout) very hilly
D4 Moderate to strenuous (challenging workout) steep inclines, moderate distance
D5 Strenuous (serious physical challenge) Steep inclines and long distance

You will get a cardio workout on the hills, some places have no trails and we'll be doing some ducking and climbing over downed trees.
ROAD & TRAIL DESCRIPTIONS: You can carpool at our final meet-point if you baby your vehicle or have low clearance.

TIME: 10am to 3:30pm (ish) Back to Walmart!
LATE LUNCH: Afterwards 3:30ish

PREPARE!!! WHAT TO BRING: Dress in layers. Warm Coat, Hat and Gloves, Longjohns, rain gear, camera, water, Lunch/snacks, Day-pack to carry your stuff.
SHOES WITH GOOD TREAD ARE A MUST! Or you will be on your butt a lot.

MEET & GREET: 10:00am Walmart in Cornelia. Meet outer parking lot near Chic-fi-la.

KEEP IN MIND: that there are always dangerous and unforeseen elements when out in nature: Cliffs, water hazards, weather, animals, insects, reptiles, falling limbs or rocks, Poison Ivy, Oak, Sumac, etc. Roads conditions may be very curvy, bumpy, gravel and muddy. Trails may be un-maintained, slippery, icy, rocky and have steep embankments. Shoes and clothing may get muddy or wet. The woods are your bathroom.
